Our Beginner 2 stage is aimed at swimmers who have a basic understanding of each stroke but still need a little help with developing the breathing practises. The key focus at this level is developing some distance in the swims and linking in the breathing practises. Swimmers who can swim 5m confidently without support and can link strokes by taking a breath and then continue their swim, without teacher support. If swimmers see teachers demonstrating skills they will be more likely to understand what you are asking.

Skill Required-

·    Swimmers at this stage should be safe out of their depth.

·    Have a basic understanding of the 3 main swimming strokes Front crawl, Back crawl, Breaststroke

·    Be confident over a minimum of 10m or half length of the pool.

The objective of this class is to continue developing stroke technique and breathing practices.

Distance covered-

Swimmers should be covering 10m -25m unsupported swims. E.g teacher stands at the 5m marker, calls the swimmer in and walks backwards as the swimmer swims towards you. Remember if swimmers are struggling with the distance and technique, shorter swims with correct technique are better.
