LESSON HANDOVER FORM: Things to consider:

The covering teacher may not have delivered within your venue before, mentioning drop off and collection points may help.

Class distances are one of the biggest things that would be useful on the handover. How far do each of your classes "normally swim", what do they normally do for their warm up.

Pool setup, which lane do you normally teach in? Do you have a full lane or a tank. Do you have to setup pool platforms or lane ropes, where are these normally kept?

THANK YOU for taking the time to provide your lesson handover. This will help us maintain our delivery standards.

Key Reasons for Lesson Handover

1. Safety and Supervision: Ensures the covering teacher is aware of specific safety concerns and supervision needs.

2. Consistency in Learning: Maintains continuity in teaching methods and lesson plans, helping students build on their skills progressively.

3. Understanding Individual Needs: Allows the covering teacher to address the unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning paces of each student

4. Behaviour Management: Provides details about group dynamics and individual behaviours to maintain a positive learning environment.

5. Lesson Continuity: Ensures there is no disruption in the lesson plan, allowing the covering teacher to continue from where the previous instructor left off.

6. Professional Accountability: Demonstrates a professional approach to teaching and a commitment to providing high-quality swimming lessons.
