First Visit
Club Access:
When accessing the club, you will be required to enter the club via the key coded door at the changing village. It is worth considering allowing additional time prior to your lessons to clear the pre-entry checks if you are not the registered club member.
If you are attending the lessons and are not the registered club member you will be required to sign in at the reception desk. We recommend having a note of the membership number used when registering your swimmer, this will help speed your access to the club.
Please note that the membership used for the booking must be either a parent or grandparent of the child attending the lessons.
If your membership has lapsed or you plan on canceling your gym membership please let us know as soon as possible.
Spectating & Viewing
Poolside Viewing
Whilst we welcome club members to enjoy the pool facilities alongside the lessons, please be mindful of the following:
If you are in the pool hall, you should be dressed appropriately in swimwear.
If you are not planning to use the pool, please drop your swimmer with the class teacher and return to either the members’ lounge at the entrance or the café in the main entrance hall.
Any swimmers or siblings not in lessons should be directly supervised in the water by the accompanying adult, not from poolside. This ensures they are safe and using the pool space safely.
Viewing & Waiting Areas
Non pool users - Parents and guardians are welcome to wait in the Members’ Lounge or Reception Seating Area during lessons.
Instructors have access on their class registers to a feature called "request parent" this function will send a notification to you via text and email requesting you return to poolside.
Member Use of Facilities
Membership holders may use the gym or pool while their child is in lessons.
Additional adults or children accompanying you will need to purchase a guest pass at Reception.
Arrival & Departure
On arrival, swimmers should wait on the left-hand side of the pool until called by their instructor.
At the end of each lesson, swimmers will be handed over to a responsible adult, regardless of age.
Please arrive promptly for both drop-off and pick-up to keep transitions smooth.
Towels
Towels are provided for club members, we have been asked that children attending the swimming lessons provide their own towel for use at the lesson. This is due to the increased footfall during the lesson times.
Cafe Access
Accompanying adults not making use of the health club facilities should leave poolside at the start of the lessons. The cafe will be available for parents to use for the duration of the lessons for both members and non members of Whitekirk Hill.

Pick Up & Drop Off
All swimmers should enter poolside via the changing rooms entrace areas Please use the blue pool shoe coverings provided or remove outdoor footwear when entering poolside. During the lesson change over please respect other pool users who may also be looking to access the chaning areas.
Swimmers will be collected and dropped by the class teacher at the entrance to the changing facilities.
Please note to ensure the safety of all our swimmers we have asked our teaching team to ensure that swimmers are handed over to a responsible adult at the end of each lesson this is regardless of age. Please arrive on time for the start and end of your scheduled lesson to ensure the smooth transition of classes.

Swim Kit
Swim Shorts:
We recommend that swim shorts do not pass below the swimmers knee.
Swim Costume:
It is recommended but not essential that swim costumes are one piece.

Goggles
Goggles are an essential piece of kit during the lessons.
Even if your swimmer does not like goggles we recommend bring a set along to each lesson.
This will help your swimmer speed through the programme.

All other equipment will be provided poolside for use during the lessons.
Armbands and other floatation devices are not required for our lessons.
Our teaching team work with floats and noodles through the lessons to support all swimmers.
