Midlothian Swimming Club
Midlothian Swimming Club is a friendly and ambitious competitive swimming club, helping swimmers develop their skills and fulfil their potential in a positive, supportive environment.
For more than 30 years, the club has supported swimmers at every stage of competitive development—from those taking their first steps beyond Learn to Swim through to District and National champions. Our progressive squad structure provides the coaching, encouragement and challenge each swimmer needs to grow in confidence, fitness and ability.
We are proud to be the largest and most successful competitive swimming club in Midlothian, while remaining a close-knit community where every swimmer is recognised and valued. Named Scottish Aquatics Club of the Year in 2024, we continue to build on a strong record of achievement in and out of the pool.

Keeping Things Social
Check out some of the great opportunities swimmers can enjoy during their time at swim club. Friendships are formed, memories are made, and there are plenty of exciting experiences along the way.
Below are links to some of the highlights, why not have a look around and see what being part of the club is all about.

Penicuik Leisure Centre
Penicuik Leisure Centre features a 25-metre swimming pool used for the majority of Midlothian Swimming Club’s squad sessions. The venue also includes a gym, sauna and steam room, soft-play facilities and a meeting room. It provides a practical community setting for Development through to Masters training.
Lasswade Centre
Lasswade Centre has a modern 25-metre swimming pool with a movable floor, allowing the water depth to be adjusted for different activities and training requirements. The centre also offers a gym, hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room. Midlothian’s Silver and Gold squads use the venue for early-morning swimming, Friday pool sessions and land training.
Beeslack Community High School
Beeslack Community High School provides a community swimming pool used by Midlothian’s Development Squad. Its smaller school-based setting offers an appropriate environment for younger swimmers beginning their competitive club pathway and developing their technique, confidence and training skills.
Royal Commonwealth Pool
The Royal Commonwealth Pool is one of Scotland’s leading aquatic venues and features Edinburgh’s only 50-metre swimming pool. It also includes a teaching pool, international-standard diving facilities, a performance gym, fitness studios, café and accessible pool lift. Midlothian’s Gold Squad trains here on Sunday evenings, providing valuable long-course experience in a high-performance environment.
